Kindred spirit, oh who is she
That she can do this to me?
What do I have that I can give
To be the one that she can be with?
Kindred spirit, burning intensely bright,
This and every night.
An eternal flame so full of spark
To turn light of day into dark.
As if she did not know,
I have just said it so.
She is but a flickering flame
And I do not even know her name.
See how the gentle breeze blows
To become her the petal of the rose.
Just to glimpse her sweet and simple smile
In the captured moment of a while.
Barefoot at sunset she walks
And reads a man’s undeclared thoughts.
Oh how I dream to hold her hand
In that romantic distant land.
It makes no sense of time
Because there can be no church chime.
But you can be sure my Lord
This kindred spirit will have her due reward.
Look inside your heart, if you are she
And be a part of this memory.
Kindred spirit, oh she burns
And oh because of her this heart so aches and yearns.
