THANKSGIVING

Americans in the United States celebrate Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November every year.
It’s the celebration of giving thanks in the Autumn for the yield of a successful harvest of food from the crops planted the previous year.
It all began back in 1620 when the pilgrim settlers sailed from Plymouth England on the Mayflower and arrived to Massachusetts. Th
They made friends with the local Indian tribes who helped them grow the first crops.
The first thanksgiving feast occurred in the Autumn of 1621.
Many years later, in 1863, President Abraham Lincoln decided to make Thanksgiving a public holiday for all Americans.
Today, Americans have turned the annual celebration into a family gathering, eating roasted Turkey and Pumpkin Pie.
